As you've hopefully seen, we have started releasing shared policy commitments based on what we’re hearing our community wants combined with expert advice on how best to deliver that. 

This week is Homelessness Week in Australia, held annually to advocate for the solutions needed to end homelessness. The theme this year is ‘Homelessness Action Now’.

Since we established Independents for Canberra at the start of this year, our ambition has been to develop locally-led, evidence-based policy commitments designed to help solve the Territory’s most pressing challenges.

Just a quick update today covering three things related to our campaign to get independents elected this October.

It’s been an exceptionally busy couple of weeks! 

We’re already seeing a great initial response to the independent movement. Check out these two recent polls from the Canberra Times and Riotact!

It’s been incredibly exciting to start introducing our candidates to the public over the last 10 days, with more to come through the remainder of this week!

Momentum is building. We are seeing more and more people volunteer and express their support for our vision, as well as their eagerness to help shape it.

In case you missed it, Independents for Canberra's candidate endorsement process has garnered a bit of media attention in the last couple of days.

We’re getting excited for our second candidate endorsement town hall this evening, covering the electorates of Kurrajong and Murrumbidgee!
