On Friday 6 September, we’re hosting our official IFC campaign launch party at the Old Canberra Inn, where we'll celebrate the progress we've made since the launch of Independents for Canberra back in January, and get excited about the six weeks remaining before polling day!
We’re very fortunate to be joined by two special guest speakers: the ACT’s first independent Senator, David Pocock, and the outgoing Chair of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body, Tanya Keed.
There’ll also be fantastic live music from local legends Bec Taylor, Monica Moore and Moondog.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the movement we’re all a part of, to get behind our candidates as they sprint toward the finish line, and to have some fun at the OCI.
Please be sure to RSVP and invite anyone who’s interested in the independent movement and/or is up for a good shindig – all are welcome: www.independentsforcanberra.com/launch
In case you missed it, we’ve been busy with finalising and publicising policy commitments supporting local businesses and community sport in the ACT.
You can read about our local business policy package in the Canberra Daily here.
Riotact has published a great write-up on our community sport policies here.
You might also be interested in my opinion piece on disadvantage in the ACT, which can be found here.
You can learn more about all our policy commitments (more coming soon!) on our website here: www.independentsforcanberra.com/policy
Thank you for supporting the independent movement.
It’s time for change!
