One of our top priorities since launching has been connecting with potential candidates who are ready to step up as committed representatives of their communities. We’ve been focused on bringing a diverse mix of people into the movement who will do what’s right by Canberrans and who, most importantly, are in it for the right reasons.
We have to say, we’re getting very excited about the people who’ve put their hands up. And, having completed our candidate vetting procedures and initial interviews, it’s time for you to meet them.
Candidate Endorsement Town Halls
Come along to provide input into which candidates are endorsed in your electorate!
At upcoming candidate endorsement town hall events, potential candidates will be given 7 minutes to deliver a speech and 18 minutes for audience Q&A. If their performance demonstrates a commitment to our 10 core principles – like no vested interests, supporting evidence-based policy and ensuring every voice is heard – candidates will then officially be endorsed by Independents for Canberra.
All the candidate endorsement town hall events are listed on our website here and summarised below.

This is the most important stage in our candidate endorsement process, so we’d really love to see you there. And if you know other people across the ACT with an interest in seeing independents elected in October, please invite them along too.
See you there!
