In case you missed it, we had a good run on ABC Stateline last Friday. You can find a write-up by James Glenday accompanied by video of the segment here.
Whyalla Wipeout made its first appearance in the campaign, and hopefully - for everyone's sake - its last. Viral singing gags aside, we've had some really positive messages come to us about the coverage, which is encouraging and greatly appreciated!
Brindabella Community Meeting
After a very robust and insightful discussion at Belconnen Library on Sunday, we're heading to Tuggeranong this Sunday 14 April for our Brindabella Community Meeting. For all the details and to RSVP, head here.
If you live in Tuggeranong or know anyone who does, this is a great chance to come along and chat about what Independents for Canberra should be prioritising over the coming months. We're hearing there are lots of issues people want to see more action on and we'd love to come out of Sunday's meeting with a clearer sense of top priorities in the south. You can help us spread the word by sharing our posts on social media about the event and by flicking around the URL for the event page: https://www.independentsforcanberra.com/brindabella_community_meeting
We've also been unearthing some potential candidates at these events, which is incredibly exciting. We have a great shortlist coming together comprised of a diverse range of people from across our community who are ready to step up. People have formally nominated in every electorate and we're anticipating some more nominations based on recent conversations. We're looking forward to sharing more about candidates in the next few weeks.
If you know of anyone we should be speaking with about candidacy, please let us know now!
Digital Communications Role
Finally, we're on the hunt for a couple of volunteers to help with our digital communications design work. This would be a great opportunity for a uni student or someone early in their design career to build a portfolio and get some direct experience as part of a grassroots campaign. We've listed the role on Ethical Jobs here. If you know of anyone who might be a good match, please send them the link!
